Construction began in 2017 after Delta Airlines signed a long-term lease with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The terminal features four concourses with 37 gates to accommodate Delta’s full fleet, as well as a Delta Sky Club with a sky deck, hold rooms and 30% more space for concessions.

The Delta concourse is located at the airport’s eastern part. Flights from the seven new gates located at the concourse will commence operations from 4 November with 60 daily flights to Boston, Chicago and Washington DC.

Cuomo said: “The opening of the first new concourse at Terminal C is a major milestone that takes us one step closer to transforming LaGuardia Airport into a global gateway worthy of this state.
