Menzies Aviation has renewed its contract with Canadian airline Westjet at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Under the two-year agreement, aviation logistics specialist Menzies will provide ground handling services to Westjet at its main operational hub.

Menzies currently has approximately 400 staff at Toronto Pearson, Canada’s largest and busiest airport.

Commenting on the agreement, Menzies CEO Giles Wilson said: “WestJet is a valued customer of Menzies, so I am pleased that they have chosen to extend their relationship with us in Toronto.

“This contract renewal demonstrates that our strategy of growing key accounts organically is bearing fruit, and I want to thank the Menzies team in Toronto for continuously delivering a premium service, which keeps customers coming back time after time.”

Menzies also provides ground handling services to Westjet at Saskatoon International Airport and Ottawa International Airport.

In July, Menzies Aviation won contracts from Air China to provide ground handling services at Nice Airport (NCE) and cargo handling at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

NCE’s three-year contract will come into force on 3 August, with the Menzies team delivering a full suite of ground handling services to the airline on three weekly flights from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). This represents 156 flights per year and 18,000 total turns.

Menzies Aviation operates at 212 airports in 36 countries and is supported by a team of 32,000 staff. It serves more than 500 customers, handles 1.3 million flights, and manages 1.6 million tonnes of cargo per year.
