The US Department of Transportation (US DOT) has selected new airline carrier Boutique Air to operate flights at the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport.
From 1 November this year, Boutique Air will start offering daily passenger flights to Pittsburgh International Airport and Baltimore-Washington International Airport. The contract will be valid for a period of two years.

The new airline will replace Southern Airways Express, which currently owns the government permit to offer subsidised flights.
Southern Airways has been offering services to Johnstown airport since 2016.
Under the new agreement, Boutique will offer a total of 30 round-trip flights including 18 every week to Pittsburgh and 12 to Baltimore.
For its services, Boutique Air will receive up to $3.16m from the Essential Air Service programme.

By GlobalDataBoutique Air CEO Shawn Simpson told tribdem.com: “We are very excited to get operations going in Johnstown. I think we are going to make improvements in getting the numbers up.
“Our interline agreement with United (Airlines) is a real positive. They will be able to book flights on the United website or any of the travel websites if they are connecting with United.”
Simpson further added that Johnstown passengers will notice an upgrade in the flying experience and better connections.
Headquartered in the US, Boutique Air operates as a commuter airline and offers charter services as well as scheduled passenger services subsidised under the Essential Air Service programme.
Prior to buying a fleet of aircraft in 2012 through its holding company Targaryen, Boutique Air was originally an aviation technology company.
