Ontario International Airport in the US is expanding valet parking in a bid to make the airport more convenient for travellers.

Starting 10 May, passengers departing from Terminal 2 will have access to curbside valet parking.

The terminal serves Alaska, Delta, Frontier, United, Volaris and China Airlines, which launched operations at the airport last month.

The rate for valet parking will be $25 per day. Valet parking is already available at Terminal 4, which serves the carriers American Airlines and Southwest Airlines.

“Demand for air travel at Ontario is jumping and, as a result, our customers expect services and amenities that increase the convenience factor of travelling through our airport.”

Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) president Alan Wapner said that the addition of valet parking to Terminal 2 has taken place as the airport continues its steady year-over-year growth.

Wapner added: “We work every day to establish new services and expand existing services that are popular with our airport customers.

In 2017, the OIAA approved the addition of popular ride-hailing companies to the airport’s ground transportation programme while Omnitrans added Route 61 bus stops every 15 minutes.

Located in the Inland Empire in Southern California, Ontario International Airport operates as a full-service airport with nonstop commercial jet services to 18 major airports in the US and Mexico.

China Airlines and Volaris customers who use valet parking at Terminal 2 will retrieve their cars at the airport’s International Arrivals Terminal, which are located to the west of Terminal 2.

Passenger volumes at Ontario rose 10% through March this year, compared to the same three months period last year, while freight volumes increased by more than 16%.
