Louis Berger has secured a contract to provide management services for Salt Lake City International Airport’s North Concourse programme.

The programme is part of the Salt Lake City International Airport Redevelopment Programme. Louis Berger has been involved with the programme since 2013.

Louis Berger programme and construction services associate vice-president Fred Wenger III said: “We are delighted to leverage our global resources and top-notch talent for this challenging and exciting project’s successful delivery.

“Our team of experts looks forward to fulfilling the Salt Lake City International Airport’s expansion goal to accommodate the increasing passenger traffic at the airport.”

“The North Concourse will replace existing gates located on Concourses B, C and D, which would require expensive renovations if they were to remain in use.”

Under the contract, Louis Berger will offer staff augmentation to the airport in a number of areas, such as terminal redevelopment and concourse construction, delivery, and baggage handling systems planning.

Additionally, the company will offer services for installation, commissioning and turnover, landside and airside utility field engineering support, planning, installation and commissioning, as well as subcontractor trade invoicing support.

In April last year, the Salt Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA) awarded a contract to Austin Okland Aviation to build the North Concourse construction project. SLCDA owns and manages Salt Lake City International Airport.

Austin Okland is a joint venture between Austin Commercial and Okland Construction Company.

The North Concourse will replace existing gates located on Concourses B, C and D, which would require expensive renovations if they were to remain in use.
