Wisconsin’s Appleton International Airport in the US is set to gain a new service centre, which will be built by Gulfstream Aerospace to support its growing customer fleet.

Complementing the existing hangar and office space, the additional $40m Gulfstream Appleton facility is expected to begin operations in the second quarter of next year.

Construction on the new facility is scheduled to take place in the second quarter of this year. The facility will cover 180,000ft² and is set to create about 200 jobs.

Gulfstream plans to construct the maintenance, repair and overhaul facility north-east of the airport terminal. The facility will feature a hangar, offices, shops, and a support space.

Furthermore, the expansion will boost the number of employees at Gulfstream Appleton to more than 1,000.

Gulfstream Appleton houses a service centre and large-cabin completions facility that covers more than 315,500ft².

Employees at the company completed 582 aircraft visits to support customers at regional airports.

Services offered by Gulfstream include inspections, structural modifications and major avionics installations and safety upgrades.
