US-based company ADB Safegate has been selected to modernise gate operations at Terminal 1 in Incheon International Airport, South Korea.

Under the deal, the company will replace the airport’s existing aircraft parking system with its latest Safedock Type 1 advanced visual docking guidance system (A-VDGS).

The project will also see the expansion of the company’s control and monitoring system that would be deployed at Terminal 2 of the airport to allow integration with other external systems.

This will enable the Incheon Airport to streamline its gate and apron operations. A single control solution will also be deployed for the docking systems at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which is scheduled to open this month.

The expanded gate control and monitoring system will include enterprise application integration (EAI) for the airport’s flight information management system (FIMS), airfield lighting (AFL), master clock and aircraft operations monitoring system (AOMS).

The installation and commissioning of the project are scheduled to be completed by August.
