The Airports Authority of India is to integrate radars located at various parts of the country as part of a plan to improve air safety.
The integration will ensure better surveillance of flights movements in the airspace and facilitate coordination between air traffic controllers of different cities to provide the exact location of flights, thereby saving fuel.

Once the radars are integrated, a common air traffic system will be worked out to manage the flow of air traffic in India, prioritise landing queues and reduce delays at airports.
