VM iris recognition system scans the passenger’s iris and boarding card at the entrance and exit of the departure lounge, ensuring that the same person enters and leaves the airport.

The MFlow Journey uses face recognition to track passengers through the facility and allows the airport to measure the time that passengers spend in each area of the terminal.

The new technology was installed as part of a £45m upgrade at Gatwick.
