Passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport, UAE, rose to 1,086,348 during September 2011, a 17.1% year-on-year increase, according to airport operator Abu Dhabi Airports Company.
The airport also saw a 15% growth in passenger traffic during the third quarter of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010.

Cargo volumes increased by 10.8% during September compared with same month last year, while cargo volumes during July-September 2011 rose by 7%.
The increases are mainly due to healthy economic growth witnessed in Abu Dhabi, along with the increased cargo activity of Etihad Airways.
