Passenger traffic at Vilnius International Airport in Lithuania rose to 168,200 in October 2011, a 53.7% increase compared with the same period last year.

The airport also recorded 2,477 aircraft movements during the month, an 18% rise compared with October 2010.

The airport’s most popular destinations for the month were London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Milan and Dublin, and the highest number of passengers came from Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Finnair, Wizzair, Ryanair and AirBaltic.

During the winter season of 2010-11, VIA served 19 routes; the airport plans to increase this to 27.
