Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport in the US is to undergo a $100m renovation project to transform its central section.
The project will widen the checkpoint to help relieve congestion so that passengers will be able to move among concourses A, B and C without having to pass through security for a second time.

In addition, the airport will install four additional security checkpoints on the ground floor where passengers pick up their baggage.
The checkpoints at concourse C will be increased to nine and imaging technology will be installed.
A connector will also be built on the airfield side of the building, providing a direct link from concourses A and B to concourse C.
Construction work will begin next year and be completed in 2013, reports baltimoresun.com.
