The UK Met Office has unveiled a new weather-based resource planning system, Weather Windows, to enable airports to plan tasks such as airport maintenance up to 15 days in advance.
The UK Met Office has unveiled a new weather-based resource planning system, Weather Windows, to enable airports to plan tasks such as airport maintenance up to 15 days in advance.
The service is also designed to help airports manage the costs and risks associated with mobilising resources such as staff, equipment and materials, and improve operational logistics.
"Tasks within Weather Windows are customer-defined, ensuring that weather forecasts and windows of opportunity are available for customer planning needs," said UK Met Office business development manager Gary Holpin.
