Fraport’s Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany served 4.3 million passengers in November 2013, an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.

As a result, the airport has achieved its highest passenger number ever, beating its previous high figure in November 2011 by approximately 30,000 more passengers.

Fraport noted that the increase in passenger numbers confirms the continuing growth trend of recent months.

During the month, aircraft movements decreased 1.2% to 37,805 takeoffs and landings, and cargo tonnage increased 3.5% to 196,394t.

Frankfurt Airport’s accumulated maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) rose slightly by 0.7% to 2.3 million metric tonnes.

From January to November, the passenger traffic rose by 0.7% year-on-year to 53.94 million, while its cargo tonnage increased 1.2% to 1.94 million metric tonnes.

For the 11 month period, aircraft movements fell 2.2% to 437,923 takeoffs and landings, and maximum takeoff weights (MTOWs) decreased by 1.9% to 26.2 million metric tonnes.

In November 2013, the combined passenger traffic at Fraport’s five majority-owned airports, including Frankfurt Airport, Antalya, Burgas, Varna and Lima, reached 6.7 million passengers, representing a 4.6% rise from 2012.

Passenger traffic at Fraport’s Lima Airport (LIM) in Peru rose 10.5% to 1.2 million, while Antalya Airport in Turkey served over 1.1 million passengers, an increase of 3.3% year-over-year.
