The platform is claimed to increase operational efficiencies and minimise costs associated with various factors, including unnecessary fuel burn.

Honeywell connected enterprise, aerospace software and services vice-president and general manager John Peterson said: “By using connectivity to help analyse and track aircraft while they are in route, pilots can better adjust flight plans for greater efficiency, and operators now have more data at their disposal to make smart decisions. The results are enhanced safety, better operations and improved operating results.”

A leading domestic airline in Brazil, GOL Airlines is implementing the software across its fleet of 138 Boeing 737s while Sky Regional Airlines is using it across its fleet of 25 Embraer E175 aircraft.

GOL Airlines fuel efficiency engineer Conrado Burgarelli said: “With Honeywell Forge Flight Efficiency, we’ll get a more accurate and timelier picture of where we are with our fuel-saving initiatives and ideas for new ways to improve flight efficiency.”
