Crisplant, part of BEUMER Group, will provide highly redundant CrisBelt transport lines and a hold-baggage screening system in order to ensure safe and efficient operation, the company said.

The latest-generation CrisBag system will be used for all subsequent sortation, which ensures the highest level of availability, the shortest transport times and 100% track and trace capability.

Featuring an early baggage store, it also enables passengers who arrive early to instantly check in their bags and proceed through to the terminal’s airside areas.

The recent agreement follows a successful contract for Terminal 3, where CrisBag serves a dual role as a baggage sorting system and as an extensive inter-terminal transfer baggage system connecting Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

"Crisplant will provide highly redundant CrisBelt transport lines and a hold baggage screening system."

Crisplant has carried out baggage handling at Changi since the handover of Terminal 2’s tilt-tray sorter-based operation in 2002.

The early bag store has a capacity of up to 4,000 items of luggage while optimum system availability and performance is assured by on-site Crisplant staff.

Singapore Changi Airport, which started construction of Terminal 4 in November 2013, expects to welcome its first passengers in 2017.

Equipped with modern design and process innovations, the new terminal aims to enhance passengers’ travel experience and increase operational efficiency and manpower productivity for airlines and airport agencies.
