Dayton Airport

The US Department of Transportation (DoT) has awarded a total of $12.5m in federal funds for improvements in three airports.

Approximately $10.2m of the total funding has been allocated for James M Cox Dayton International Airport, which will be used to renovate the runway at the airport.

US Senator Sherrod Brown said: "These improvements will enhance safety at James M Cox Dayton International Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses."

The remaining amount will be offered to Erie-Ottawa International Airport and Put-In-Bay Airport in Ottawa County, Michigan.

As part of the funding, Erie-Ottawa Airport will see the renovation of its 18/36 runway, while Put-in-Bay Airport will repair the pavement on the terminal apron, where aircrafts are refueled, unloaded, parked, loaded or boarded.

Both Erie-Ottawa and Put-in-Bay are general aviation airports and are managed by Erie-Ottawa International Airport Authority and Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority respectively.
