Aircraft manufacturer Bombardier has revealed its plans to set up a new global manufacturing centre in Mississauga, Toronto, Canada.
To be located in Toronto Pearson International Airport, the one million square-feet facility will be used for Bombardier’s Global business jets final assembly line.

The centre will also include hangar space for pre-flight activities.
Designed to annually manufacture 100 aircraft, the facility will also generate thousands of employment opportunities.
Mississauga mayor Bonnie Crombie said: “Mississauga is thrilled to welcome Bombardier to our city, a leading global aerospace hub and home to Canada’s largest aerospace sector.
“Not only will this investment support jobs and attract talent, but it will also boost economic growth and help raise Mississauga’s profile as a global aerospace hub where innovation in aerospace thrives.”

By GlobalDataBombardier has entered a long-term lease agreement with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) to build the facility.
The manufacturer has already begun preliminary work with first production activities scheduled to start in 2023.
Additionally, Bombardier has contributed millions of dollars to the Downsview Aerospace Innovation and Research Consortium (DAIR), which will be used in the development of a visionary aerospace hub for academic research and training activities.
The contribution is intended to develop a hub for academic research and training, and includes C$2.5m ($1.8m) in capital funding to rehabilitate the Moth Building.
Bombardier president and chief executive officer Alain Bellemare said: “This is a strategic move for Bombardier and a strong commitment to Ontario’s aerospace industry. It will allow us to offer world-class career opportunities and continue fuelling the economic development of the region for years to come.”
