Boeing has secured a $2bn contract from Qantas Airlines for the supply of six additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The new aircraft will replace Qantas’ fleet of six Boeing 747-400 jumbo jets, joining the airline’s existing fleet of eight Boeing Dreamliners to serve international routes.

Deliveries are scheduled to be completed between late-2019 and mid-2020.
