The Airbus A330 aircraft which damaged its front wheel and nose due to the incident, was coming to the Kathmandu airport from Istanbul.

Nepal has been seeing torrential rains for the past few days which had left the weather foggy with poor visibility.

Before being given the permission to land, the aircraft was told to circle the airport for almost an hour due to poor visibility.

It was reported that on landing, the aircraft’s front gear collapsed and it skidded for at least 1,000 metres on the grass beside the runway before coming to a stop.
