Sichuan Airlines has received the first of the three new Airbus A330-200 leased from Dutch company AerCap Aviation Solutions.

The A330-200, configured in a two-class layout with 36 first-class and 209 economy seats, can fly up to 7,250nm at speeds of up to Mach 0.86.

The carrier will use the A330s on domestic trunk routes from Chengdu to Beijing and Shenzhen, on regional routes within Asia and on international long-haul routes to Europe.

The aircraft will aid Sichuan in competing on high-density regional and international routes.

Sichuan Airlines currently operates 44 Airbus A320 aircraft.
