Pratt & Whitney next-generation product family vice-president Bob Saia said that the completion of the turbine ensured the test programme for the PW1524G engine would continue on schedule.

The new propulsion system will undergo certification in 2012 and enter into service on Bombardier’s CSeries aircraft in 2013.

The PW1524G belongs to the PW1000G-geared turbofan engine family that will power the CSeries aircraft.
