Two years behind schedule, the Dreamliner has overcome a string of delays and issues, ranging from incomplete pre-stuffed sub-assemblies, poor modelling and fastener shortages as a result of Boeing’s outsourcing.

Farnborough’s event this year, taking place between 19-25 July, follows a record breaking show in 2008, where $88.7bn-worth of orders were placed during a show that featured 165 aircraft, attracting 153,000 visitors.

A number of new exhibitions will be on show, including various networking initiatives including a themed conference and seminar programme, a ‘Meet Your Buyer’ event and a day dedicated to International Futures for Youth.
