Kuwait-based aviation lease and finance company Alafco has ordered 50 A320neo family aircraft, with options for an additional 30 finalised by the end of 2011.

The A320neo offers a range up to 500nm (950km) and features the latest-generation engines and large Sharklet wing tip devices.

According to Airbus, the A320neo are designed to use 15% less fuel than older single-aisle A320 models.

Alafco has already ordered a total of 26 A320s, of which 25 have been delivered to date.
