Ireland’s DAA has put out a tender on a five-year upgrade programme of airfield works at Dublin Airport that could cost €60m over five years.
The planned airfield works, includes an overlay of the main runway 10/28 at Dublin and also taxiway rehabilitation projects, airfield lighting upgrades, new airfield infrastructure for large aircraft and new taxi-way signage.

The authority has issued request for tenders (RFT), inviting companies to participate in the bidding for the upgrade work.
In the RFT, the DAA said: "Recent studies have determined that the runway does not have sufficient structural strength for the projected aircraft movements over the next 15-20 years and a rehabilitation of the pavement is required.
"The condition of a number of other very critical assets in the vicinity of Runway 10/28 has also been assessed over the last number of years.
"Through these assessments it has been determined that the assets must be rehabilitated within the next two to three years in order to sustain airport operations and reduce the risk of a system failure."

By GlobalDataThe project is expected to include the upgrade of lighting on the runway and additional infrastructure with the capacity to hold bigger aircrafts.
The Runway 10/28 manages about 95% of the existing air movements at Dublin amounting to over 200,000 a year.
The runway renovation project could last up to 24 months.
During the first half of this year, around 11.5 million passengers have used the airport, which is an increase of 1.5 million customers over the past year, indicating a growth of more than 15%, reported Irish Independent.
