The Board of Airport Commissioners of Los Angeles, US, has approved a proposal to develop a remote airline lounge for celebrities at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
As part of this proposal, the board also approved a 10-year lease with Gavin de Becker and Associates at Los Angeles International Airport.

The new facility, which will be developed in the location of an old cargo facility will include a 43,750ft2 building and a 13,840ft2 parking area. The lounge is expected to generate $34.76m in revenue to Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).
The new lounge will allow celebrities such as movie stars, sportspeople, business magnates and politicians, as well as some regular passengers to choose a more private boarding process.
The new service will reduce LAWA Airport Police security detail for these types of passengers and divert paparazzi away from LAX’s Central Terminal Area.
Board of Airport Commissioners president Sean Burton was quoted by The Seattle Times as saying: "We’ve had a lot of issues over the years with paparazzi around celebrities, making it difficult for other passengers."

By GlobalDataAccording to Burton, it will also facilitate the common public as it will avoid unnecessary crowd or disturbances.
Private lounges also exist at international airports in major cities Amsterdam, Dubai, Moscow, Paris, Frankfurt, Germany and Madrid.
Becker has plans of introducing private terminals in other major US cities, like New York City and Chicago.
