Indra has received contracts to install more than 60 navigation aid systems in 20 Chinese airports such as Shanghai Pudong.
These set of contracts are in addition to existing agreements signed in March this year, which included the installation of five radars in Shanghai, south-central region of China and Yinchuan by the company.

The five radars are used to improve airspace control in Shanghai.
Indra has also installed automated air traffic management systems in two control centres in China, Chengdu and Xian, that handles the upper airspace traffic of eight Chinese provinces.
The company depends on a team of more than 80 qualified engineers, who with support from a team in Spain successfully carried out large-scale projects such as deployment of a network of more than 20 radars across China.
The network at present covers a surveillance of over 60% of its airspace.

In the last few years, the company signed a series of deals that featured the deployment of more than 200 DVOR systems, 300 ILS systems and over 200 DME systems.
The DVOR systems provide signals to planes to help them find their flight direction, ILS systems are used for instrument landing and the DME systems help measure the slant range distance to the driveway and complement the ILS systems.
