Jacobs Engineering Group has won a contract to provide multidisciplinary engineering and architectural services to Manchester Airports Group (MAG), as part of the UK’s $1.4bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MANTP).

The MANTP is a ten-year investment programme initiated to maintain the international status of Manchester Airport.

Started by the airport operator MAG, the programme includes the 60 development projects.

Under the deal, Jacobs will have to provide multidisciplinary engineering and architectural services to develop new and improved facilities.

These facilities include airfield, piers, terminal, multi-level car parks and surface access.

MAG chief executive Charlie Cornish said: "Manchester Airport is thriving as a national asset, forming a key component of the UK’s aviation infrastructure at a time when airport capacity in the UK is at a premium.

The project will be completed in phases to carry out the airport operations with minimum disruptions.
