ACUS enables passenger processing services to be accessed and installed via a web browser from a laptop or mobile.

This new solution provides airport staff with operational flexibility to address peak demand, as well as check-in passengers remotely when required.

Aeroport de Quebec Information Technology vice-president Marc-Andre Bedard said: "Our focus is on the traveller experience.

"An airport has to be flexible to respond to the constant flux in passenger volumes, and the difference is in the service we provide.

Amadeus and Cofely will also provide self-service kiosks at the YQB airport, allowing passengers to avoid long check-in queues.

The technology will help eliminate the use of expensive on-site servers, and reduce the high operational costs of old airport IT systems.
