The Bangladeshi Government has signed a two-year contract with UK-based firm Redline Assured Security to provide aviation security services and training at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The company will train security personnel and screeners to enhance airport security.

During a cabinet committee meeting held at the Bangladesh Prime Minister’s office, Redline was chosen from among four overseas security companies suggested by British High Commissioner Alison Blake.
Led by Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon, the committee’s other members included the PM’s security adviser, secretaries of the civil aviation and foreign ministries, the senior home secretary, and the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
The contract will support the CAAB in meeting its international obligations under Annex 17 of the Chicago convention.
Redline chief executive Paul Mason said: "Redline will deploy nearly 40 of its team across a variety of aviation security functions, including manning screening points at passenger terminals and the cargo complex.

The company will commence operations at the airport on 23 March.
On 8 March, the British Government imposed a temporary ban on direct air cargo imports from Dhaka to London due to security concerns.
The government will also ban direct flights between Dhaka and London for Biman Bangladesh Airlines if security services are not significantly improved by 31 March.
