Abu Dhabi Airports, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, has launched its ‘Year of Reading’ campaign by opening a library at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

UAE President and Abu Dhabi Ruler H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced the campaign, which aims to encourage people to read more across the country.

Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development Undersecretary H.E. Afra Al Sabri said: "We are pleased to be supporting such initiatives that deliver the vision of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, for the ‘Year of Reading’.

"This campaign highlights the importance of reading and the critical role it plays in elevating knowledge and education standards amongst youth and the entire society."

Located in the link between Terminals One and Three, the new library will provide a wide range of multi-lingual books for passengers.

Abu Dhabi Airports has also introduced internal initiatives, such as displaying books in the company’s headquarters and also distributing free books to staff.
