In a separate deal, Alitalia has expanded its code-share agreement with US-based Delta Air Lines.

The agreement, which is effective from 1 June 2016, will allow Alitalia to place its AZ code on Delta’s flights from Minneapolis / St. Paul Airport.

Turkish Airlines and Croatia Airlines have expanded their code-share agreement, which allows the former to place its TK code on Croatia Airlines’ domestic services from Zagreb to Zadar and Pula, Croatia.

Serbia’s largest airline Air Serbia has expanded its code-share agreement with Alitalia.

Effective from 27 April 2016, Air Serbia included its code on Alitalia’s flights from Belgrade to Ohrid, Pula and Varna.

From 5 April, Alitalia has placed its code on Air Serbia-operated flights from Rome to Amman.

Saudi Arabian Airlines has announced an initial public offering (IPO) worth SAR5bn ($1.33bn) to be completed by mid-2016, with HSBC Holdings as the lead arranger.

The proceeds will be used to fund the airline’s fleet expansion.
