Saint Helena Airport in the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena has completed its third operational readiness trial, followed by an open day.
The third trial was to test and integrate primary systems in areas of the airport, such as its terminal building.

Local volunteers and primary school children gained insight into the services to be available at the airport once it is completely operational and starts serving commercial flights.
Saint Helena Airport Operations head Gwyneth Howell said: "These trials have been a great success and a genuine achievement for all who volunteered to play a role on each day. I thank all of our volunteers.
"The challenge here is to take the feedback and improve one’s service delivery to all stakeholders.
During the open day, staff members answered questions and led invitees through the airport’s terminal building, control tower, and fire-fighting and rescue facility.
