Emirates has launched its fifth A380, which features a design raising awareness of illegal wildlife trade, at London’s Heathrow Airport.

The new A380 is a model aircraft that features special livery in support of United for Wildlife, an alliance between conservation organisations, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry.

The new Emirates A380 aircraft is to be displayed onsite at the airport’s main traffic roundabout.

A third of the size of an operational A380 and weighing more than 45t, it is one of the largest aircraft models worldwide.

Over the last six months, Emirates has been spreading awareness of the threat posed to wild animals by illegal trading.

The existing four Emirates A380s have been operational since last November.

The aircraft have flown more than 4.2 million kilometres on more than 800 flights across five continents.

Emirates operates 126 non-stop flights from the UK to Dubai every week.
