Brazilian aerospace company Embraer has awarded a contract to Eaton to supply hydraulic components for its new E-Jets E2 commercial aircraft.
The contract amount is estimated at $400m throughout the life of the programme.

Embraer’s second generation of E-Jets include three new aircraft, the E190-E2, E195-E2 and E175-E2.
Under the contract, Eaton will provide pumps and power transfer units for all three aircraft.
Eaton’s aerospace fuel and motion control senior vice-president and general manager Mike Beck said: "We’re continuously improving our product portfolio to help customers meet new goals for reliability, fuel-efficiency, weight-savings and lifecycle cost performance.

By GlobalDataEmbraer’s new E-Jets family will be equipped with aerodynamically advanced wings, enhanced systems and avionics, improved aircraft availability and double-digit reductions in fuel consumption, emissions, noise and maintenance costs.
The first aircraft in the family, E190-E2, is scheduled to enter service in 2018, followed by the E195-E2 E175-E2 in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
