Boeing has entered a new technical assistance agreement with iGA Havalimani Isletmesi (IGA), the developer and operator of Istanbul New Airport in Turkey.

Under the deal, Boeing’s American subsidiary Jeppesen will be responsible for providing Total Airport and Airspace Modeller (TAAM) solution in order to support IGA and General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey (DHMI).

The group will help develop Istanbul New Airport’s airspace design, the airport operation optimisation programme and an operational readiness plan.

"We will be able to show the impacts of all operational concepts and assist the Istanbul New Airport team to make the most informed decisions possible."

The latest TAAM analysis tool provided by Jeppesen will be used with the IGA and DHMI teams in order to conduct studies with an aim to optimise runway operations, as well as the overall airspace capacity and efficiency at Istanbul New Airport.

The project also includes the responsibility of IGA to maintain safety, as well as minimise airspace conflict within the regional Istanbul Terminal Control Area.

IGA and DHMI will be trained to use the TAAM solution, enabling their active participation in the project.

They will also be able to carry out their own continuing analysis projects after the successful delivery of Jeppesen’s report.
