PSA Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines Group, has extended a heavy maintenance agreement with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s services division by two years.

According to the deal, all heavy maintenance activities of PSA Airlines’ CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft will be performed at Bombardier’s West Virginia Air Center in the US.

PSA Airlines recently received delivery of its 100th CRJ series aircraft, CRJ900, one of 24 CRJ900 regional jets ordered by American Airlines in 2014.

The firm order for 24 CRJ900 NextGen aircraft was valued at $1.14bn based on the list price.

The carrier operates a fleet, which contains CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft.

Bombardier has received 1,883 firm orders for its CRJ series aircraft for more than 100 owners and operators in 40 countries. The company has customer response centres in Montréal and Toronto, Canada, as well as 22 regional support offices and parts facilities.

Through its three service centres in the US, Bombardier provides heavy maintenance, drop-in maintenance services, as well as structural repair and overhaul of airframes and components.

In June, Bombardier entered a five-year heavy maintenance agreement until 2020, with US-based Mesa Air Group.
