"Commercialisation can help us make our mark in the market, as it will reduce the cost in satellite development and launch services."

Hu further stated that CSSG is expecting to establish a separate company in order to commercialise the Kuaizhou series.

The Kuaizhou-2 solid-fuelled rocket is capable of delivering a 1t payload into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700km and requires little time for pre-launch preparations.

The rocket can also be launched on rough terrain, reports Crienglish.com.

The company is said to have gained attention from certain internet companies on its commercial launch plan.
