Boeing has received an order from Tokyo-based SKY Perfect JSAT and Singapore-based Kacific Broadband Satellites to build a 702 satellite to address the communication and broadband needs across the Asia-Pacific.

With two distinct payloads, the satellite will be owned and operated by SKY Perfect JSAT and Kacific Broadband Satellites.

The JCSAT-18 payload will be designed to enhance mobile and broadband services for SKY Perfect JSAT customers in the Asia-Pacific and Far East Russia regions.

The Kacific-1 payload for Kacific Broadband Satellites will be offering high-speed Ka-band satellite broadband internet to customers in more than 20 countries in South East Asia and the Pacific.
