Textron subsidiary Bell Helicopter has secured certification for its 505 Jet Ranger X aircraft from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Capable of carrying five people, the new helicopter is equipped with proven dynamic components, advanced aerodynamic design and various other features.

Last December, the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X received type certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation.

In March, Bell Helicopter delivered the first 505 Jet Ranger X aircraft to private operator and Pylon Aviation owner Scott Urschel, who is based in Arizona.

The Bell 505 features Safran Helicopter Engines (HE) Arrius 2R engine, which incorporates the dual channel full authority digital engine control (FADEC) that delivers improved performance and reduces pilot workload.

It is also equipped with a fully integrated Garmin G1000H flight deck that includes dual 26.4cm displays for providing critical flight information to the crews.

Featuring autorotation capabilities, the helicopter can fly at speedS of 232km/h and carry 680kg loads.
