Embraer has won a firm order from US-based carrier SkyWest to supply 25 of its E-Jets family aircraft.

Worth $1.1bn based on current list prices, the deal includes 15 E175 SC aircraft and ten E175 planes.

SkyWest’s new E175 SC jets will feature a 70-seat configuration and can be retrofitted to 76 seats in the future, while the E175 aircraft will be equipped with a 76-seat configuration.

All the newly ordered aircraft are set to be delivered next year.

The deal also includes purchase rights for three more E175 jets. If all rights are exercised, the order is valued at around $274m based on this year's list prices.

Operating three E170 and eight E175 aircraft, FDA has also extended its Flight Hour Programme (Pool) with Embraer for up to eight years.

Embraer also noted that so far it has received more than 1,700 orders for its E-Jets family aircraft and has delivered over 1,300 aircraft of the same type.
