Germany’s Frankfurt Airport operator Fraport has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China’s Beijing Capital International Airport and Air China to increase flight frequencies between the two countries.
As part of the MoU, specialised passengers services will be developed at both Beijing Capital International Airport and Frankfurt Airport.

The MoU also includes communications and marketing activities between the two airports.
Fraport sales and customer service vice-president Winfried Hartmann said: “This cooperation agreement underscores the growing importance of Frankfurt as a preferred gateway to Germany and Europe for Chinese leisure and business travellers.
“In the future, we will be able to expand traffic connections to and from China, which is vital for Germany’s export economy and tourism industry.
“At the same time, both airports will be able to match their service offerings to the specialised needs and wishes of passengers at the corresponding airports.”

By GlobalDataUnder the newly signed deal, Fraport and Beijing Capital International Airport’s VIP Service company has already begun providing standardised products at both the airports.
Hartmann added: “The choice of Frankfurt as the first European airport for this type of cooperation can be attributed to the excellent facilities and processes for transfer passengers and the large number of flight connections available at the Frankfurt hub.”
In July, Fraport announced that its fully-owned subsidiary Aerodrom Ljubljana would set up the Fraport Aviation Academy at Slovenia’s Ljubljana Airport (LJU) by the end of 2016.
The €3.9m centre will initially provide training in airport management, ramp handling, passenger handling, dangerous goods, occupational safety, and fire services.
