Northrop Grumman’s UK-based subsidiary, Park Air Systems, has been contracted by AME Air Traffic Management to provide air traffic control (ATC) communication systems equipment across airports in South Africa.

As part of the deal, a total of 50 major South African airports will receive Park Air T6 Radio solutions, including more than 550 very-high frequency (VHF) units, which will improve the country’s ATC communication systems.

Park Air Systems will also provide remote control and monitoring system (RCMS), a multi-access remote control (MARC) server, integrated cabinets, cavity filters and controllers.

Once delivered, the systems will be installed by Air Traffic and Navigation Services, which provides air traffic, navigation, training and other services in South Africa.

In June, Textron Aviation subsidiary Beechcraft selected Northrop Grumman's LCR-100N hybrid navigation unit to be installed on its King Air turboprop platform.
