Japan Airlines (JAL) has taken the delivery of its first A350-1000 from Airbus’ Toulouse delivery centre.

The A350-1000 will be the airline’s next international aircraft, beginning with flights between Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and New York’s JFK Airport.

This plane is the first delivery of a 31-plane agreement, including 18 A350-900s and 13 A350-1000s.

According to Airbus, the A350’s clean sheet design incorporates “cutting-edge” technology and aerodynamics to achieve unrivalled standards of economy and comfort.

Airbus made an official statement highlighting the amenities inside the aircraft cabin: “JAL’s A350-1000 cabin has been designed to make passengers immerse in the elegance of Japanese aesthetics and tranquillity.

“Meanwhile, a serene ambiance highlights the beauty of Japan. The cabin’s stylish interior is tailored to a high quality, high comfort passenger experience which echoes JAL’s renowned service”.

The A350 Family will have received 1,070 firm orders from 57 customers worldwide by the end of November 2023, making it “one of the most successful widebody aircraft ever” stated Airbus.
