South Korean company LG Electronics (LG) has produced a new line of advanced robots, two of which are designed to provide services at airports.

The solutions are the Airport Guide Robot, which provides assistance to passengers, and the Airport Cleaning Robot, which offers industrial cleaning services.

To be launched in Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, the Airport Guide Robot will operate as an advanced information hub for passengers travelling to and from the airport.

It will respond to passenger queries in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

The robot can scan a passenger’s ticket and provide detailed information about their flight’s boarding time and gate location.

In can also relay details of weather conditions in a traveller's destination city, as well as directions to locations inside the airport.

LG’s industrial-sized Airport Cleaning Robot is a large vacuum cleaner that features a high-capacity dust canister, as well as several brushes and motors.

The robot is designed to clean a range of surfaces, including tiles and carpet floors.

It is fitted with advanced smart sensors and cameras to ensure effective, powerful and safe cleaning in even the most populated airports.

The robot offers, light detection and ranging (LIDAR) capabilities, sensitive bumpers for detecting obstacles, and simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM) technology. 

LG displayed its line of advanced robots at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, US.
