Canadian airline Porter Airlines has announced a purchase order of 25 E195-E2 aircraft which rounds its total order of E195 class aircraft to 75. The deal is worth $2.1bn.

The airline has stated that the aircraft will extend its “award-winning” operations across North America.

This extends the relationship between Porter and Embraer.

Porter has already received 24 E195-E2s and has recently announced new destinations across the US including Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. This is alongside destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Michael Deluce, President and CEO of Porter Airlines emphasised how this will expand Porter’s reach.

Deluce said: “At Porter, we entered a new era when we began operating the E195-E2 earlier this year. The jet is exceeding our expectations, especially in terms of fuel burn, and delivering an incredible level of customer satisfaction to our passengers with a quiet, comfortable ride.

Porter has opted to equip the 146-seat aircraft in a comfortable 132-seat all-economy layout, with customers having a choice of seat pitches of 36, 34, and 30 inches.
