GMR Infrastructure has secured a bid to build the Mopa Greenfield Airport in Goa, India.

The company was chosen for the project, which is expected to cost Rs.30bn, over Essel Infraprojects and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). 

The firm offered a revenue share of close to 37% to Goa's state government, while Essel Infraprojects offered 27% and AAI 32.31%.

The four-decade long concession period for the project could be extended for a further two decades through a bid process, reported Economic Times.

India-based GMR has already constructed airports in Delhi and Hyderabad, as well as Istanbul, Turkey.
