Noibai International Airport in Hanoi has implemented Infortrend Technology’s EonStor GS unified storage data backup system for its mission-critical data in virtualised environments.

The airport has replaced its legacy system with EonStor GS 3012 storage together with Veeam backup software.

Using a hypervisor’s snapshots, the new system backs up a virtual machine (VM) at the image-level to retrieve its data, as well as offer automated recovery.

The EonStor GS 3000 series is a Veeam Ready unified storage that delivers high throughput suitable for block and file-level backup.

“EonStor GS storage family is an excellent choice for VM backup and verified to work well with Veeam software.”

Noibai International Airport information technology (IT) team member Phan Bang said: “EonStor GS 3012 delivers excellent price performance, large expansion capacity, and is easy to manage and maintain.”

The technology vendor stated that the high density and compact design structure of its data backup system decreases storage installation space, as well as power consumption.

It is capable of hosting more than 850 drives or more than 10PB of raw data to expand the capacity.

Infortrend product planning senior director Thomas Kao said: “EonStor GS storage family is an excellent choice for VM backup and verified to work well with Veeam software.”

Noi Bai Airport is the largest airport in Vietnam in terms of total capacity and the main hub of the country’s flagship carrier Vietnam Airlines.

The Northern Airports Authority, which manages Hanoi Noi Bai Airport, chose to modernise the airport’s existing IT infrastructure in order to offer a more reliable airport information system.
