Airport retail developer MarketPlace Development has announced that US-based LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is set to receive a major overhaul of services, amenities, food and shops.
The redevelopment will provide much-needed upgrades for LGA’s Terminal B, as well as bridge the gap to the new terminal, whose construction is set to start in 2015.
The project will be implemented by MarketPlace Development and will see the building of new shops and restaurants, enhanced amenities and infrastructure upgrades.
MarketPlace Development president Paul McGinn said: "The food and shops programme at LGA has won some of the most prestigious awards in the industry, and our goal is to continue to provide travellers with an exceptional shopping and dining experience and up-to-date amenities as a new terminal is being built."
Upgraded amenities at Terminal B include Bank of America ATMs and a new CenturionSM Lounge, which will provide upscale lounge services to American Express card members.
Construction has already started and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
