Airport solutions provider JBT AeroTech has secured an equipment supply contract from Wichita Airport Authority in the US.

The $8m contract is one of the largest orders for glass-walled boarding bridges in the country and under the contract terms, the company will supply gate equipment for Wichita Mid-Continent Airport.

"This is a great opportunity for the City of Wichita to showcase its airport with state-of-the-art glass boarding bridges."

JBT AeroTech president Dave Burdakin said: "This is a great opportunity for the City of Wichita to showcase its airport with state-of-the-art glass boarding bridges. Jetway bridges are designed to accommodate various aesthetic configurations including steel, aluminium panels and glass.

"This will be a significant installation of the Jetway glass bridge design in the US."

The contract covers the supply of glass-sided Jetway passenger boarding bridges, JetAire pre-conditioned air units and Jetpower 400Hz ground power units.

The installation of the equipment will begin later this year.
